When I went to one of my friend’s house, they prepared this gravy for dinner. Oh man !! I really fell in love with that since then. It’s been yrs since I prepared, so I don’t remember the recipe exactly. Each time I prepare this, I try to get to the original. Am trying still, when I get it exactly, I will update this post with the additional details.
Mint Coriander Chicken Curry / Pudhina Kothamali Chicken

Ingredients
- Chicken - 1 lb
- Oil - 4 tbsp
- Big Onion - 1 no
- Turmeric - 1 tsp
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1½ tsp
- Tomato - 1 no
- Garam Masala - ½ tsp
- Chicken Masala Powder - 1 tsp
- Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
- Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- water - 1 cup
To grind:
- Mint Leaves - 1 cup
- Coriander Leaves - 1 cup
- Green Chili - 6 nos
Instructions
PREP:
- Separate the leaves of Mint and Coriander. Grind them together with Green Chili to a fine paste. Cut the Chicken in to medium size pieces. Chop the Onion.
COOKING:
- In a non stick pan add oil, when hot add Mustard. When it splutters, add the chopped Onion, turmeric. When the Onion become golden brown, add Ginger Garlic Paste and fry till the raw smell leaves. Add tomato and fry till mushy. Add the ground paste and fry for 2-3 min.
- Add Chicken, Garam Masala, Chicken Masala Powder. Red Chili Powder, Coriander Powder and Salt. Fry for 2 min. Add the water and close the pan with lid.Check for salt. Stir often to avoid the burn. Cook till the Chicken is cooked and oil separates.
TIPS:
- Use the Chicken with bones for better taste

Its a tip… I juz saw in a Tv programme…
Before grinding, you can saute those coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chillies with ginger 1 inch, 2 cloves of garlic, and atlast while turning off the stove add a cup of coconut pieces(optional) for a minute and grind it as a paste… This will gives a nice aroma and flavour…
