Egg Masala/ Muttai Thokku

Well, here’s a quick egg masala. Egg is rich in protein and other vitamins and a daily dose is healthy. Here in the US, eggs taste a little different, probably because of what the hens are fed. For a similar taste to India try buying vegetarian fed hen eggs or organic.

Minced Mutton Kheema/ Mutton Kothukari

Cook Time :30-45 Min | Servings : 2 Persons

“The fewer ingredients, the better taste” is true for Mutton Kothu Kari which is one of my favorites. This is one of the Sunday Non-Veg specials at my home. As and when the mutton starts to cook the aroma fills the home and makes you real hungry. I generally have it with steamed white rice or chapathi. I used home made curry masala and fresh ground ginger garlic paste to get the real taste of mom’s cooking. The secret of getting a better taste for any recipe is to add the fresh ground ginger garlic paste, you’ll definitely notice the difference.

Vendakkai puli kulambu/ Okra puzhi kulambu

This is one of our very frequent gravies, easy to prepare and delicious. There’s another method of preparation with slight variation of adding ground paste to get the extra flavor. Okra cooked in any form tastes good. This is one of my favs, it’s very easy to prepare yet nothing can beat it’s taste.

Kerala Fish Curry/ Kerala Meen Kulambu
Thank you friends for the constant queries and support. We have moved from Arkansas to Austin, Texas. We are really liking Austin, it feels a lot like India.
It took a little while to get back on track from the busy moving, exploring/enjoying the new place etc and the lazy mood that follows after the exhaustion.
I have lots of recipes to post in my draft. I can’t wait to post them soon. I can say hopefully that I’m back from the long pause/vacation/break or whatever.

Here’s today’s recipe, Kerala Fish Curry. The reason why I like fish is it’s very rich in protein, no cholesterol and wont feel heavy.
When there’s an option for fish and chicken I would always prefer fish. I am trying out different varieties of Fish dishes to not get bored of my favorite ones.

Rava Dosa / Rawa Dosai

Cook Time :10-15 Min (for each one) | Servings : 15 nos approximately

Can any of you deny that Rava dosa is the tastiest of all dosas? Most would agree yes. I love them becoz it’s easy to prepare at home and they are crispy and tasty. Preparing this doesn’t involve much of the process, we need to prepare this mix just before 2 hrs or it can be done instantly too. Though it takes quite a long time to get it done on griddle than a ordinary dosa, it’s worth trying it for it’s taste.

Chicken 65

Cook Time :30 Min | Servings : 2 Persons

Chicken 65 is a very popular starter in most restaurants that serve non-veg in Tamilnadu. I am sure most would agree with me on this. Chicken deep fried in oil with the extra seasoning makes it tasty and lip smacking. T

here’s various stories on how the Chicken 65 name evolved. Chicken of 65 days older suites well to cook this recipe or there are 65 ingredients to cook this recipes etc. I’m not exactly sure of the origins of the name, but this is indeed a true mouth watering dry chicken dish. It’s not a tough job to get restaurant quality, this is a very easy method to cook at home with a restaurant style taste.
