Muttai Paniyaram / Egg Paniyaram

One of my all time favorite. Adding egg to the batter results in spongy Paniyaram. Check it out how to prepare batter for this.  We usually make paneeyaram when the batter is at it’s 3rd or 4th day and fermentation is very strong. Add chopped onion, green chili, curry leaves and coriander leaves for added taste.

Kadalai Maavu Bonda / Gram Flour Bonda / Chickpea Fritters

This is also known as chickpea flour bonds from kongunadu / south india. This is a best evening snack. My mom used to make this when raining. We used to make this for small functions at our places or for any local festivals.

If you are so health conscious squeeze the excess oil by keeping the fritter in the middle of the tissue and press it in the palm. Instead of green chili, red chili powder can also be used.

Arisi Paruppu Sadam / Dhal Rice

An authentic Kongunadu Recipe. We often prepare this at our homes for lunch. The name only states it’s just cooked with the rice and the lentil with seasoning. We mix sesame oil a tsp or ghee a tsp with this rice before eating. One of my all time favorite recipes, not because it’s simple, it tastes really simple and good.
