Left over Idli Upma South Indian Recipe

Ingredients
  • Idilli - 8 nos
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Mustard - ½ tsp
  • Split Urad dhal - 1 tsp
  • Channa dhal - 1 tsp
  • Onion - 1 no ( Medium )
  • Green Chili - 4 nos ( as per ur taste )
  • Curry Leaves - 1 strand
  • Tomato - 2 nos ( Medium )
  • Turmeric - ¼ tsp
  • Salt - to taste
Instructions
PREP:
  1. Break the left over idlis using your hand and prepare the idli upma. Keep it aside.
  2. Chop onion and tomato. Split open green chili.
COOKING:
  1. In a pan, add oil, mustard, channa dhal and urad dhal. When Mustard crackles, add green chili, curry leaves. Fry for 30 sec.
  2. Add the chopped onion and fry till onion is translucent. Add the chopped tomato,turmeric and cook till tomatoes are mashed up.
  3. Add the idili upma and salt. Mix well and keep it on stove for 2 min. Keep mixing it until it's warm.
TIPS:
  1. Idli upma tastes even better if it's left over from the previous day.
